Why I Wanted to Sell My Gold

Oct 5th, 2011 Lawrence White

I was looking through my jewellery box last week and found a lot of old broken necklaces, and some old jewellery I don't wear anymore. My second anniversary is coming up soon, and I want to sell my gold for a little extra money for a gift, and maybe a nice dinner out, just the two of us. Finding extra money in this economy is a bit difficult, but I think if I sell my gold jewellery I should have enough for my anniversary plans.

When I looked online for somewhere to sell my gold, I found several places that looked good, and a few that didn't. Some of the places where I could sell my gold had people claiming to have become super rich overnight. My parents always told me that if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is, so I am avoiding those.

There were a few that would not tell me their address or local phone number either, which seems to me a simple question. If they are hiding something as simple as their address or phone number, what else are they hiding? I am not going to sell my gold to those places either. After a bit of looking I did find a good company to work with to sell my gold.

Looking at the company's website, the directions to sell my gold seemed simple enough. First I contact them for a mailer. I put the pieces I want to sell in their mailer and send it back to them. Then I wait for their offer; it said on the website that I should have an offer in a few days. If I am satisfied with the offer I accept it, sell my gold, and get my money for my anniversary plans. If I am not happy with their offer, they will send my gold jewellery back to me.

I am so excited to sell my gold. I don't need the clutter in my jewellery box; it makes it hard to find my favourite pieces of jewellery for work or for my anniversary dinner. Without all that clutter, I will be able to find the pieces of jewellery I am looking for much easier, and I will be able to see which pieces need to be cleaned or need a little maintenance.

I also heard from a friend that the price of gold is pretty high right now. That means now is the right time to sell my gold jewellery because I will get more money from it now than I would any other time. In this difficult economy, I need all the extra help I can get. Plus, the extra money I will receive when I sell my gold will go a long way toward my anniversary plans for next month.

I should be able to get a gift, and spring for a rare dinner out, all because I wanted to sell my gold.
